Allen Dapson serves as the Vice President + Principal + Director of Best Practices at CBA Architects. He joined the firm in 2000, bringing with him a diverse professional background and quickly becoming a valued member of the CBA family. From the outset, his exceptional understanding of construction documentation and ability to efficiently develop comprehensive plan sets distinguished him as a natural leader, leading to his rapid promotion to Project Manager. Allen is recognized as a skilled and pragmatic problem solver whose personable, collaborative management style is highly valued by both clients and team members.

Allen’s extensive experience spans residential, retail, restaurant, timeshare, hotel, mixed-use, mid-rise, and high-rise developments. In the multifamily sector alone, he has contributed to the development of more than 20,000 condominium and apartment units. He believes the strongest design solutions emerge through meaningful collaboration, not only among architectural and engineering teams, but also with owners, property management professionals, and end users.

Driven by a passion for quality and operational excellence, Allen established the firm’s Best Practices division, developing tools, standards, and protocols that empower teams to consistently deliver high-quality work. He also founded CBA’s Human Resources department, helping preserve and strengthen the firm’s unique, people-centered culture. Today, Allen continues to lead innovation efforts through the integration of AI-driven processes and technologies designed to enhance quality, efficiency, and project delivery timelines.

In recognition of his leadership, dedication, and lasting contributions to the firm, Allen was named a Partner in 2018. Following the company’s transition to an ESOP, he now serves as a Principal of the firm.

Beyond his professional contributions, Allen is passionate about supporting the community through organizations such as Give Kids the World, reflecting his commitment to creating a positive impact both within and beyond the architecture industry.
