Talison Row

Talison Row Garden Apartment

Although Talison Row is well located on Daniel Island, it was built on a challenging site that fell within a flood plain. This required that all habitable space had to be placed approximately one story above grade. The natural solution was to create a podium design that placed parking under the apartments. This solution had an additional benefit of concealing virtually all the automobiles, except those parallel parked on the streets.

The clubhouse at Talison Row was designed to create a central gathering place for its residents. Various amenities and functions were placed in buildings and spaces that wrapped around the central pool plaza. This created a more dynamic social gathering experience. The South Carolina coastal architectural vocabulary along with flood plain issues inspired the veranda aesthetics of the clubhouse.
